Tony Boyd, City of Chattanooga’s deputy director of citywide services, retired after more than 40 years of working for the city. Stowers has worked with Tony and the city for a long time, and we congratulate him on his retirement. The City of Oak Ridge drew a crowd on a hot July day to help facilitate the groundbreaking for a new retail center where the old Oak Ridge Mall stands. Stowers lent the city an excavator for the event, which was used to ceremonially knock down a wall of the old mall, which will be demolished.
Stowers Machinery Corporation, along with Vulcan Materials, will host a Tennessee Tailgate Party on Sept. 10 at Bristol Motor Speedway to cheer on the Vols as they prepare to take on Virginia Tech in the Battle at Bristol. On game day, Sept. 10, the folks from Stowers and Vulcan will be set up in the Tennessee Tailgate area of the All American Campgrounds near Bristol Motor Speedway from 11 a.m. until game time, and we’ll have food and drinks for tailgate party guests from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Come join us for tailgate party games, food, fellowship and fun. More than 500 folks turned out for Stowers’ Machine Demo Day April 29 to experience machine demonstrations and get to know Stowers’ people a little bit better. If you weren’t able to make it, here’s a little bit of what happened: 1. A Trimble machine control and guidance technology demo by SITECH allowed Demo Day attendees to operate excavators and dozers equipped with this technology. 2.
